Inflammation is a process for the defense against pathogen infections or tissue injuries. Acute inflammation occurs in two phases: initiation and resolution.
Initiation phase, with hallmark of pro-inflammatory cytokine release, is defined as the activation of innate immune system;
while resolution phase, characterized by anti-inflammatory cytokine release, is required to curtail inflammation and restore tissue homeostasis.
The initiation and resolution phases are highly regulated by M1/M2 polarization and Th/Treg balance.
Inflammation initiation is triggered by Th1-mediated M1 polarization and Th17 differentiation;
whereas inflammation resolution is promoted by Th2-mediated M2 polarization and Treg differentiation.
Arigo offers 8-in-1 Multiplex ELISA kits to facilitate the research of inflammatory response, M1-M2 polarization, and Th/Treg balance.
